چکیده
The newly developed field of Quantum Information Theory has cross-fertilized a variety of areas in the long established field of Mathematical Physics. Concepts in Quantum Mechanics that were once highly controversial, such as “action at a distance”, are being experimentally verified in physics labs around the world, opening up exciting research avenues for mathematicians and physicists alike. The mysterious resource of quantum entanglement, the stronger-than-classical non-local correlation between quantum particles, is at the center of many exciting new theories and applications. My research interests lie in the intersection of Mathematical Physics and Quantum Information Theory. In the broad field of Mathematical Physics I have focused on the study of Quantum Spin Systems and their properties as they relate to Quantum Information.
